i think raindrops is nature’s way of creating polka dots and i LOVE polka dots!
enjoying this little bit of rain we are getting today along with a side of thunder in between the rays of sunshine peeking through the clouds. beautiful.

a quote by Kellie Elmore, Magic in the Backyard:
“I love how summer just wraps it’s arms around you like a warm blanky.”
although the weather doesn’t feel like the end of summer, kids starting school and labor day soon approaching, i know summer is coming to a close.
i’ve been fortunate enough this summer to spend many of my days at the beach with my partners in crime, tee (the boyfriend) and april (my best girlfriend). whether it be a full day or just a couple of hours, our beach days have been filled with refreshing dips in the ocean, yummy lee’s sandwiches, while relaxing and basking in the sun.
just this past weekend, i was able to watch the sunset over the pacific while my toes were being washed over by the extremely warm ocean water. i couldn’t help but feel… blessed! cali summer blessed!
i mean, seriously, how ridiculously amazing is this sunset???

this song is a few years old, but i think it’s the theme song to my summer of 2012…
enjoy, and try to soak in as much summer as you can before we “fall” back!
this is my kind of “monday blues”…

hope you have a great week! if you can, try to step into the sun and onto some sand. i think it does the body (and mind) good.
a quote by ashleigh brilliant:
“sometimes the most urgent thing you can possibly do is take a complete rest.”
after many months of working nonstop, i finally took a little time to unplug & unwind. my boyfriend knew the only way i was able to completely unplug is by putting me in the middle of the desert with no cell reception or wi-fi. what a brilliant idea!
so last week we headed out to joshua tree for a couple days of camping. the minute you enter this national park, it feels as if you’re transported into another world. maybe it’s because the joshua trees really do look like something out of a dr. seuss book. but, i also felt this sense of peace as we wandered throughout the park. we spent our days hiking and discovering different areas of joshua tree and each night the stars came out to greet us. it was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!
i wasn’t quite ready to leave joshua tree and all it’s beauty, but i definitely was ready for a shower and a ice cold beverage! 🙂
another reason why i love LA?
this…
doing yoga on the rooftop of, my instructor, mary beth‘s home in venice beach, on a lovely wednesday evening in march, while the sun sets over the pacific and the cool fresh ocean breeze passes by.
i felt like i was really seeing the sun set for the first time tonight.
pure bliss.
