ride or die chick

i’ve been bicycle shopping lately. haven’t ridden on a bike since i was a wee little one. really. no lie. i keep telling my friends that i have never ridden an adult bike and they look at me a bit confused at first. then i explain to them that the only 2 bikes i ever rode on was my very first bike, which was a strawberry shortcake tricycle and then my sister’s hand me down little kid, don’t remember what kind except that it was yellow and black, bike, with training wheels and then eventually without.

so all this talk of mountain bikes, road bikes, 3 speed, 7 speed, etc. all goes over my head. but lately with summer in full swing, friends out riding their bikes to the beach and the boyfriend building his very own bike, i’ve had the need to find me a bike and learn to get back on it!

i’ll be the first to admit, i have no idea what all the specs and detail mean on a bike (luckily i have the boyfriend to help me out on that part). i just knew i wanted something that fit my sense of style, is light enough for me to carry up and down 2 flights of stairs on my own, comes in a color scheme that i like, is available in a small enough size for my short 5′ frame and of course have room for a cute basket! after weeks of looking, i can’t believe i actually found a bike that fit each one of those criteria.

meet the 2012 trek allant wsd… an order for this bike has been placed and hopefully will make its way to me at the end of this week. next i’ll have to find “the basket” that compliments this bikes cuteness.

the parties continue…

the summer seems to be pretty jam packed with parties and all sorts of fun events as my inbox has been consistently receiving inquiries and requests for birthdays, parties and baby showers.  here are a few that started off the summer for me.

i received a special request for a garden bug theme birthday party in the style of my little invites.  the outcome was this little love bug invite that will shortly make its way to my etsy shop along with a couple new designs i’ve been working on.  (stay tuned for those!)

a lovely young lady contacted me after seeing my 30th themed cupcake toppers and wanted to do something special for her own 30th.  here are her flirty thirty cupcake toppers and matching thank you notecards.

to complete the minnie mouse themed birthday party invitations i designed, here is a look at a couple additional things i did to help bring in the theme to the event.

parties galore!

well, another month seems to have passed me by and now i have to play catch up on my blog and share all the fun events that i worked on for Chlo+E‘s fun table spreads.

here is a quick run down with some snapshots to get you up to date…

here is a lucite concession stand the girl’s created for the screening of Nickelodeon’s iParty with Victorious.

the bachelor’s melissa rycroft had a western themed sip and see hosted by huggies, where the girls designed an adorable western themed dessert table.

a colorful spread helped create this rainbow themed party for a little boy’s 3rd birthday party.

and the most recent event that took place, was a vintage themed baby shower.

new discoveries

i recently discovered yoga. and what an amazing discovery it has been! i can honestly say that i’m hooked. i look forward to my yoga days each and every week. i guess you can say with the hustle and bustle of life, taking an hour and half out of your day to just let go is absolute bliss for me. i find that i’m more calm and centered after each class and have discovered the most amazing sleep i’ve had in years!

yesterday night i tried out a new class and the instructor read us a passage from something she came across this week during one of our cool down poses and it absolutely moved me. hope you enjoy these words as much as i do…

a quote from Esther Abraham-Hicks:

“All is well, and you will never get it done. Life is supposed to be fun. No one is taking score of any kind, and if you will stop taking score so much, you will feel a whole lot better – and as you feel a whole lot better, more of the things that you want right now will flow to you. You will never be in a place where all of the things that you are wanting will be satisfied right now, or then you could be complete – and you never can be. This incomplete place that you stand is the best place that you could be. You are right on track, right on schedule. Everything is unfolding perfectly. All is really well. Have fun. Have fun. Have fun!”

minnie mouse the “in a card” way

a client of mine asked me to create invitations for her daughter’s 3rd birthday party using a minnie mouse theme.  i wanted to put my own “in a card” twist to a very classic disney character.  this is what i came up with…

i’m am very happy with the end result because i was able to translate disney’s minnie mouse the “in a card” way…  simple, unique and super cute!
