I recently had a custom request to make my Single Card Draw Invites into a Thank You/Meal Selection card. Complete with a custom common backside pattern using each guest’s names.
The cards were placed at each guest’s place setting as a way to say Thank You as well as an indicator of which meal they had selected.
I didn’t get a chance to share Andrea Schroder’s New Luxe Noir Collection of candles and scents that I helped create packaging for before I went on maternity leave. Here’s a glimpse into the collection featuring warm, earthy, and bright fragrances.

So officially, I started working again at the beginning of this month. Luckily, it’s been a slow transition back with adjustments everyday to little man’s schedule. So I thought it fitting to share Jackson’s birth announcement as my first post, as I step back into the studio and slowly get my workflow groove back (now with a baby attached).
I’m not sure how I managed to pull this off, but somewhere in-between breastfeeding, pumping and being very sleep deprived, I managed to design Jackson’s birth announcement, get them printed, AND mailed out within the first 3 weeks after he was born. Here’s to multi-tasking like a Mother! 🙂
Here’s a look into how they turned out…
I really wanted family and friends to feel like they were holding him in their hands when they opened the card, so the announcement is true to his actual birth size, 20 inches long.
The backside included a quote by Maureen Hawkins:
“Before you were conceived I wanted you
Before you were born I loved you
Before you were here an hour I would die for you
This is the miracle of love.”
The photographs of Jackson in color were taken by Bella Baby Photography and the black & white photos were taken by me. 🙂
Currently both Etsy shops are temporarily closed while I take maternity leave for the months of February and March. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but hopefully you will return in April to place your order.
In the meantime, here are a couple pics of the somewhat complete nursery room. I say somewhat, because I know this room will constantly be changing as we adjust, but for now this room awaits the arrival of our little guy.
I made sure several handmade items were scattered throughout the nursery as I felt that added little touch was really important to me. The bird mobiles that hang above the crib and changing table were inspired by Jen Hewett‘s bird mobile blog post that I’ve had bookmarked from over 10 years ago. With the extra fabric, I made the “YOU ARE OUR GREATEST ADVENTURE” sign that hangs over the crib.
I had these custom triangle shelves made by a family friend. I sanded and stained them to match the grey decor. The blocks on display were created by family and friends from my baby shower when we asked them to “Decorate a Block.”
